About the business meeting
Dear Leena,
I'm really sorry that I missed yesterday's business meeting. Do you have the recorded video for yesterday's meeting? If you have, could I get access to it? Thank you.
Best wishes
Yiqun

Assigned discussants
IAMCR expects each author to read and write comments for at least one paper. To begin, I propose the following division of labour:
Yiqun Geng reads Patricia's paper
Patricia reads Marta's paper
Marta reads Stuart's paper
Stuart reads Yiqun Geng's paper
Kris reads Santiago's paper
Santiago reads Sirkku's paper
Sirkku reads Henrike's paper
Henrike reads Kris's paper
This way everyone receives comments from early on. There are very many insights in the papers, and I warmly encourage you to read and discuss more papers than just the assigned paper.
I am looking forward to reading your contributions!
with warm wishes,
Leena

Comment
This is an investigation carried out with the opinions of Ukrainian refugees in Germany, which has a deep testimonial value. It is interesting to see that they use the Smartphone to be able to communicate in their daily lives, in a context where German is not their mother tongue. On the other hand, they also use this medium to be able to find out about the news of the war. On the use of the Smartphone by children, there is a disagreement among mothers and grandmothers due to the risks that this implies. The Smartphone, then, becomes the central instrument for daily living and for staying informed.
On the other hand, the misinformation about the war is eloquent, producing uncertainty in the refugee community. Media education is necessary to help strengthen the emotional structure of refugees and their living conditions. Undoubtedly, working with children and adolescents is paramount.
In this context, I would like to know: how can we relate the results of the research to the central theme of the Conference (Living the planet)?
Dear colleagues,
I am delighted to welcome you to IAMCR2023-MER! I will assign a discussant for each Media and Social Change paper on Wednesday (28 June), and participate in discussions myself.
with warm regards,
Leena
