Dear authors and ETH members,
I am Kanchan K Malik, Chair for this panel on ‘Disinformation, Media Literacy and Ethics’, comprising four papers to be presented face-to-face in Lyon by Xavier Ramon, Aleix Marti- Danes, Reinald Besalu and Carles Pont (Spain); Vamsi Krishna Pothuru (India); Maria Jose Arrojo (Spain) and Chanettee Tinnam, Metha Sereethanawong, Jessada Salathong, Tortrakool Ubolwatra and Visawat Panyawongsataporn (Thailand).
This panel additionally has OCP papers uploaded by Meghan Dunn (USA), Wanqi Li (China); Velayutham Chandrashekaran and Tamilselvi Natarajan (India), Xin Zheng and Hu Peichen (China), Eloi Camps (Spain), Felipe Navarro Nicoletti (Argentina), Jesse Drew and Glenda Drew (USA), Elizabeth Press (USA) and Victoria Moreno-Gil, Ruth Rodríguez and Marcel Mauri-Ríos (Spain).
The authors of the papers will feel encouraged and appreciate it much if you could take time out before July 9 (and later, too) and initiate a conversation on the theme of this session through the OCP platform. I invite you, therefore, to please read all the papers uploaded (I will request some of you who have been included in the session and have not been able to upload their papers/presentations to do so now, if possible) and provide your constructive comments and feedback to the authors. This will be useful for the discussion during the session in Lyon too.
It would also be helpful if the session contributors could regularly check in and engage with the respondents. I request that each author read at least two other papers and leave some discussion points.
I hope you will enjoy reading these papers, and I look forward to meeting many of you at the IAMCR 2023 conference in Lyon.
