The Political Economy (POE) Section will be holding online elections for two co-Chair and one Vice-chair positions, for the term 2026–2030.
The call for candidates is now open. Statements must be submitted by 9 April at 23:59 UTC.
Individual members and representatives of institutional members in good standing who are also registered members of the Political Economy Section are eligible to stand.
To verify if you are a member of the POE Section, log in to your IAMCR account and select “My Sections and Working Groups” from the menu.
Interested candidates are required to send a statement (maximum 500 words) and a photograph by 9 April to elections@iamcr.org, copying the S/WG elections coordinator, Andrea Medrado (A.Medrado@exeter.ac.uk), and the current Section Head: Benjamin Birkinbine (birkinbineb@uwosh.edu), Gabriela Martinez (gmartine@uoregon.edu), Mandy Troeger (mandytroeger.phd@gmail.com), and Micky Lee (mickycheers@yahoo.com).
Serving as an IAMCR S/WG head officer is both challenging and fulfilling, offering valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth. The heads are responsible for overseeing all phases of conference programming for the Section, from reviewing abstracts to organising on-site sessions. They also participate in association-wide decision-making, maintain regular communication with members, organise and/or sponsor academic activities, and foster networking opportunities among members, aligned with IAMCR's mission. Elected officers serve for four years and can be re-elected one time.
The elections will be held online from 13 to 27 May using the SurveyMonkey platform.
