IAMCR granted UN special consultative status
United NationsIAMCR has been granted Special Consultative Status by the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in July 2008. IAMCR's request for reclassification from its earlier status as one among many NGOs listed on the UN Roster was approved by ECOSOC during its July 2008 meeting.

This means that IAMCR members can participate in, and contribute written comments to, various UN meetings in which we have an interest, as and when we choose.  This reclassification returns IAMCR to a status similar to what it had when it was founded and which it held into the mid-1990s.  I am very pleased to report that our efforts to achieve this have met with success.

Professor Robin Mansell, Past President IAMCR
