IAMCR 2008 membership campaign
ImageIt's time for IAMCR members to renew their membership for 2008. All individual and institutional members should have received an email recently reminding them that their 2008 membership fees are due.

If you aren't yet a member, join online and become part of the worldwide professional organisation in the field of media and communication research.

The benefits of being part of IAMCR go far beyond attending annual conferences and include many online and offline opportunities for building strong, collegial and supportive networks among all those who are making contributions to this field around the world. Among the benefits reserved exclusively for members are:

  • Access to the abstracts of all papers presented at our 2007 Paris conference – a 558 page compilation that can be downloaded from the website;
  • The IAMCR twice-yearly newsletter keeps you informed of the association’s activities and facilitates exchange of information among members;
  • IAMCR has 28 sections and working groups focused on particular themes and welcomes emerging themes;
  • The searchable database of members allows you to find colleagues based on a variety of criteria (country or city of residence, institution, members of a given section or working group, etc.) and to access other members’ profiles, including research interests and contact information;
  • IAMCR membership entitles you to subscribe to three of the leading journals in our field at significantly discounted prices: International Communication Gazette, New Media and Society and Global Media and Communication (a subscription to the journal of your choice is included in the basic membership fees of all institutional members and all regular members from high income countries. For further information on fees and journals, click here.
  • IAMCR is growing its membership base much more rapidly than in the past. As we do so, we are improving what we offer members, making IAMCR an increasingly valuable way of extending your networks and finding information and people.

If you are a member but didn’t receive the email, please contact us.

When you pay your fee, please consider making a voluntary contribution to IAMCR’s funds in memory of Dallas Smythe and Herbert Schiller. The funds are used to reward papers by students and young researchers which combine research and scholarly excellence with criteria that was characteristic of the work of these two leaders in our field.

The membership dues you pay make it possible for us to offer you an expanding menu of information and services. We very much hope you will choose to renew your membership in 2008.
